One bad cell lot does not show up in a checklist.

It shows up in a charge curve. We log each sampled curve by serial, compare it with the batch signature, and verify the factory's own test evidence.

What the checklist misses.

Capacity drift hidden by a passing label

Mixed or substituted cell batches

Charge behaviour outside the lot signature

Missing or conflicting transport evidence

Inspection scope

Checks tied to evidence.

CheckMethodA fail looks like
Charge behaviourMachine-log voltage and current by serial; compare the curve with the batch distribution.Early taper, abnormal temperature, low capacity or an outlier curve.
Factory dataReconcile end-of-line records with the physical sample and serial sequence.Missing rows, repeated values, broken chronology or a sample mismatch.
Cell-batch evidenceReview certificates and trace cell identifiers into finished units.Certificate mismatch, absent traceability or an unexplained batch change.
Markings and documentsCheck rating plate, packaging and supplied evidence for the destination market.Missing, inconsistent or unreadable required information.

Related requirements

Checks may relate to UN 38.3, IEC 62133 and destination-market marking requirements. ROBION reviews evidence; formal testing and certification are coordinated through accredited partner laboratories.

Not included

Destructive lab testing, certification and issuance of compliance certificates are not ROBION services.

Clear limits. Clear evidence.

Does inspection guarantee a defect-free lot?

No. Inspection reduces risk. It combines sample evidence with verified factory data and narrow machine checks, but no inspection removes all product risk.

Where can the inspection take place?

At the factory during production or before shipment, or at a neutral warehouse when independence of custody matters more.

Who decides pass or fail?

A qualified person reviews the evidence and makes every result decision. Software compares documents, triages anomalies and drafts the report; AI does not issue verdicts.

Inspect the lot, not just the paperwork.
